Dallas Dream Cars provides classic car (1950-1980) pre-purchase inspection
services in the DFW area for a base fee of $250.
Pre-Purchase Inspection includes:
- Visually inspect vehicle
exterior paint and body. We evaluate body repairs, rust, dents, dings,
chips, paint, etc.
- Visually inspect engine
and other areas under hood.
- Visually inpect the frame/subframe
for evidence of past collision damage (lift required).
- Visually inspect underside
of vehicle, floor pans, trunk, etc
- Visually inspect interior
for wear, rips, tears, cracks and authenticity.
- Check fluids and look
for signs of any oil or fluid leaks.
- Verify electrical accessories
are functional (radio, wipers, lights, etc)
- Verify VIN and Body Plates
for authenticity of make, model, color, trim, etc.
- Test drive vehicle
- Photograph vehicle (20-50
digital photos)
- Look over any original
paper work, documentation that owner may have
- Address any additional
areas of concern that you identify.
- A report will be provided
via e-mail (MS Word format) along with the digital photographs. All
above areas inspected will be addressed in the report along with an
estimate of the vehicle condition using the rating systems of the
Old Car Pride guide (industry standard - see below). If preferred,
a hard copy of the report can be mailed along with a CD ROM of photos
for an additional charge of $20.
- Additional charge of $3
per mile applies for travel beyond 10 mile radius from our location.
- Additional charges may
apply for specialty vehicles (call for info).
Appraisal Service:
- For an additional $50
charge we will provide an estimate of current market value based vehicles
listed on popular classic car classified forums, and several current
classic car price guides. This service is not offered for custom or
modified vehicles.

Scale for Classic Cars:
1 EXCELLENT: Restored to current maximum professional standards of quality
in every area, or perfect original with components operating and appearing
as new. a 95-plus point show car that is not driven.
2 FINE: Well-restored or a combination of superior restoration and excellent
original. Also, an extremely well-maintained original showing very minimal
wear.
3 VERY GOOD: Completely operable original or "older restoration"
showing wear. Also, a good amateur restoration, all presentable and
serviceable inside and out. Plus, combinations of well-done restoration
and good operable components or a partially restored car with all parts
necessary to complete and / or valuable NOS parts.
4 GOOD: A drivable vehicle needing no or only minor work to be functional.
Also, a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration.
All components may need restoration to be "excellent," but
the car is mostly useable "as is."
5 RESTORABLE: Needs complete restoration of body, chassis and interior.
May or may not be running, but isn't weathered, wrecked or stripped
to the point of being useful only for parts
6 PARTS CAR: May or may not be running, but is weathered, wrecked and
or stripped to the point of being useful primarily for parts.
