| 1965 Nissan Silvia 1965 Nissan Silvia CSP311, right hand drive, blue in color, never been restored. No major work is needed, body is straight. Some work, mostly interior could be done if wanted to get back to new original condition. Has always been kept indoors in the western part of US so no rust from salt or water. Was used in the 70's as a transportation car back and forth to work. Has been with same owner since '71. The Silvia's bodywork was all handbuilt and sits on a modified Fairlady 1500 SP310 chassis. They were the first Japanese production car to have disc brakes ( the same as was used on the E-type Jaguar and Ferrari 330) using 14" wheels. There is a double wishbone independant front suspension and a leaf sprung live rear axle. The Silvia was the first car fitted with Nissans new R engine. It is a 1595cc overhead valve engine, fitted with dual 38mm Hitachi SU carbs. Has cast iron head, not aluminum. There were only 554 produced from '64-'74. 1965 produced the most at 422. 481 of the 554 were domestic sales staying in Japan. 59 were exported, 49 of which were sold in Australia, which left 10 for the rest of the world. By checking the VIN #'s last 5 numbers, it shows this one to be the 78th car produced in '65. Further info can be found at http://www.angelfire.com/ns/silvia/ The Silvia is a unique and beautiful car, and with only 554 ever built, it's extremely rare and valuable collector car.
